ISSUE 142
MARCH 2009

It has always been a mantra of this site that 'modelflight is not just r/c', and it is just a reflection of the hobby that radio control is predominant. All other disciplines are always welcome on modelflight, and the point is nicely made with the first ever appearance of a free flight rubber-powered model being the featured model of this month's cover shot. If it's anything to do with models that fly, modelflight is the place for it!

This brand new model is Pat Tritle's giant step back to the roots of model flying. It is a twenty-six inch span free flight and rubber powered re-creation of the Stinson L-5 Sentinel - the 'Flying Jeep'. With a slightly 'cartoonish' look, Pat says she might not be too photogenic, but what she lacks in grace she makes up for in the air! More on gallery.
