Exeter
& District Radio Control Club
Exeter and District Radio Control Club is situated in the heart of the West country of England and reckons to have one of the best model flying sites around. The flying site is situated in the center of Exeter racecourse and has a first-class grass strip with safe take-off and landing plus soft run-off areas. The Club flies on a regular basis and has almost unrestricted flying throughout the year, all except when there is a race meeting. Saturdays and Sundays are the main flying days but weekdays can be just as popular. The club has a membership of about 100 with ages ranging from 10 to mature. New members are always welcome and free tuition and advice is given. Members are required to achieve a pass in the BMFA 'A' certificate before flying solo. E&DRCC
holds a monthly meeting at a local pub and attends a few charity functions
throughout the year.
The website carries useful information to club members and visitors such as a flying site map, notice board, list of no-fly dates, links, items for sale and a good gallery of pics. 2002 events include a Fly for Fun Day and a Bring and Buy Sale, although there is no reference to them for 2003.
