THIS is the page for aero-model pictures - your own, or others you've seen at the club or at a show; they are all welcome if they're nice to look at!

If you're not into digital photography or scanning pictures, why not send some photos by regular mail?  It's not too pricey; a batch of five or six photos costs $1.00 airmail postage from the USA, for example. My address is on the home page.

Three of the best from Westland & Yeovil District Aeromodellers Club

wydacharoldclarkFokker.jpg (39624 bytes)

This is Harold Clark's Fokker DVII built from the Flair kit, with an OS70 4-stroke up front and finished in authentic WWII colours, including the famous lozenge pattern on the under-surface of both wings and the under-carriage winglet. This is the model with which Harold achieved joint first in WYDAC's Scale 2001 competition.

wydaccaudron.jpg (41219 bytes)

Model and full size of a Caudron 270. The model was designed and built by Fred Ditchburn from 1/12 drawings supplied by Grierson Gower, the owner of the full size machine which is a registered vintage aircraft. Construction of the model closely follows the full size, including folding wings for parking. It has an 80" wingspan, weighs 9·5 lbs, is powered by a Saito ·08 cu. in. 4-stroke with a 14x6 propellor and is covered in Solartex, doped and painted

.wydacflycatcher.jpg (33743 bytes)

This Flycatcher is another masterpiece drawn and scratch built by Fred Ditchburn. Fred had full access to the replica which is on static exhibition at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at RNAS Yeovilton, UK. The model follows the full size with metal cladding from engine to aft of cockpit, with the remainder fabric covered. 78" wingspan, powered by a Saito 1.2 cu. in. 4-stroke, 18x6 prop, weighs 14 lbs.

Norman Harris's old but new T-28

NormHarrisT-28.jpg (27427 bytes)Norman recently built this attractive model from a brand new but over 20 years old Bridi kit! It has a 74" wingspan, fibreglass fuselage, balsa covered foam wing and stabiliser and is powered by an OS 80 2-stroke - also old but new! The model is fitted with Spring-Air retracts and weighs 10·5 lbs. Read more on Norman's unusual collection of models on post box.

GWStiger1.jpg (55545 bytes) This is the model
that came from the box
that Pat Thody's cat sat in
that was on 'hotchpotch' #51!

Pat says, "It is just the cheap GWS kit, modified slightly to look more interesting. It flies indoors superbly - I can strongly recommend it to anyone trying indoor r/c. The extra weight of the paint and wheels, etc., does not seem to make any difference to performance."

A nice selection of pictures from Lars Åkerlund from Holmsund, Sweden.
larsbiggles.jpg (30212 bytes) Winter flying at Holmsund - that's Lars in the Biggles helmet.
larsmartin.jpg (23383 bytes) Lars' son, Martin, with an interesting but unidentified flying object! Lars says Martin can fly anything and always tests Dad's new models.
larsStearman.jpg (25196 bytes) This magnificent Stearman belongs to Lars' friend Lennart Wennstrom. The model is powered by a chain saw engine.
larsSTOL.jpg (15958 bytes) A 'bare-bones' shot of Lars' STOL - nice-looking little plane.
lasseorangebox.jpg (39215 bytes) Lars with his Orange Box, a powered glider of English descent.

Send ModelFlight a picture of your aero model

Large or small, kit, scratch built or ARTF, rotary or fixed-wing, electric, rubber, i/c or gas turbine, r/c or free flight, it matters not - and they don't have to be perfect, either. If you like it, let's see it!

Just use the e-mail facility at the foot of any ModelFlight page or send details and pictures by regular mail.
