. . . and that's what this page is
all about. Tell us about anything else at all other than model flight
matters - as long as it's decent and inoffensive!
Share something of your other
interests and hobbies or those of your family, be they amateur
dramatics, arts and crafts, gardening, horse-riding, model railways, pets,
photography or
whatever. Let's see the new baby, hear about your kids, your spouse,
partner or girl/boy friend and their
achievements, the new house, etc., etc. From Academic to
Zany, it's all
welcome on this page (subject to the discretion of the editor)! |
In order to do justice to
some of the photographs that appear on this page from time to time, some of the
images may require scrolling to view them and may also take a little longer to
download.
Derick
Veliz is a regular contributor to ModelFlight and many of us
immediately think of him as the guy who takes such brilliant aerial
photographs from his model camera ships, often taken in connection with
his work as an architect.
Well, Derick has now put up some albums of
his work on the MSN Community pages and they are well worth a look. The
miniature here is just a section of his opening page, from which you can
currently link to several albums each containing a selection of pictures
on specific subjects or projects. If you peruse the ModelFlight
archive, you
will find Derick's original articles where he shows the very
straightforward equipment that he uses with such success. |

My good friend Tore Loodin
recently sent a nice collection of non-model-flying pictures, some taken
during a visit to his lakeside datja. Here are shots of a couple of his
cats, Truls (top left) and Caesar (bottom left), and two unusual
visitors. Click the thumbnails for larger images. |

| GRAPHER'S GOT ANOTHER
WEBSITE!
On
ModelFlight #48, I brought you news of a new website that Grapher
had just launched called Grapher's Picture Pages,
featuring his interests of model flying, woodworking and turning,
photography and the beautiful jewellery that his daughter-in-law 'Jools'
makes. Well, he has now split that site and produced a second site which
he is calling Made in House dedicated to 'making things'
and which covers the topics previously carried on GPP with
the exception of photography. GPP has yet to be modified
and relaunched to become a display of selections from Grapher's vast
photographic collection he has built up over 45 years of amateur
photography, including some of his cloud pictures arising out of his
career as a professional meteorologist.
Made
in House is now on our links page of personal URLs, whilst GPP
has come off until Grapher tells me it is ready for viewing!

This
is another of artist Carlos A. Garcia's wonderful aviation pictures,
this time of an AH-1F "Cobra" helicopter of the Argentine Air
Force. Click this thumbnail for a full-screen view. Carlos'
website carries a wonderful collection of aviation art as well as
samples of the postage stamps he has designed. Some of his artwork is
for sale and he also accepts commissions. See his wonderful collection

| Two
tourists were driving through Louisiana. As they were approaching
Natchitoches, they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town.
They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch. As they stood
at the counter, one tourist asked the blonde employee, "Before we
order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please
pronounce where we are . . . very slowly?"
The blonde girl leaned
over the counter and said,
"Burrrrrrrr,
gerrrrrrr, Kiiiiing" . . .
