progress

Let us watch your model in the making, from when you open the kit to air-borne! Don't feel you have to chronicle every step, unless you want to. Just send an occasional picture or two and an explanatory note and we can catch up with your progress from time to time on this page. It will only appear when there's something to report and we can keep as many projects going as you wish. I must reserve the right to select and crop pictures, though, otherwise the page will take too long to download.

JOHN ANDERSON'S SIG J3 CUB ON FLOATS

Johnssigj3.jpg (44550 bytes)John is building another fairly large electric model and has sent this shot of his J3 at a fairly advanced state of construction. He has an Astro 25 with super gear box for power on 14 cells to go into this. John says he hasn't been able to do much to this kit lately, but hopes to get going again soon.

Keep the camera handy, John, and let's see one or two more progress shots, please!

DERICK VELIZ'S RADAR CSD

This geared Speed 400 fun-fly model is coming on nicely. You might recall, it's Derick's first build and he had just got going on the wing when we saw it last on work in progress #46.

Left to right, we have a general view of the main construction, a close-up of the transparent covering going on and then a full view of the model, wing covered. I spot Derick's Twin Star in the background with which he takes those superb aerial photographs we see from time to time!

(Read about some interesting transparent covering on cats corner, by the way!)

Derick must be finding kit-building enjoyable - he's already got his next project lined up!

mini-2.jpg (36125 bytes)It's this Rally-XP mini-sailplane from Herr Engineering - an electric glider, 3 channels, 48" wingspan - just what Derick has been looking for, apparently. Power will be from a Speed 280 motor, 7 cells. Weighing only 10 ounces and with a wing area of 247 sq.in., Derick reckons it's going to be great flying from home, looking for thermals!
