| Grapher's got a website!
For those of you who have joined ModelFlight
fairly recently and might not yet have come across him, 'Grapher' is our very own columnist who contributes all
sorts of interesting articles from time to time, often of a particularly
practical nature. Well, he has just launched a personal website which I
am delighted to introduce here.
This
is a miniature of the homepage of Grapher's Picture Pages, which
is fundamentally a pictorial celebration of the lifetime hobbies
from which Grapher has derived so much pleasure.
If you have been visiting ModelFlight
for some reasonable time and also have a good memory, it is possible to
identify this chap from the subjects covered by the site - the clues are
photography, model aircraft (particularly vintage), high quality
woodwork/woodturning and meteorology!
Grapher tells us he is 63 years of age and has
been a keen amateur photographer for some 45 years, and as such has
built up a huge library of photographs, many of which record his other
principle interests and form the source material for his new site.
Grapher's working lifetime was spent in
meteorology, in which he still has an abiding interest, and so we are
promised some nice cloud shots on a page dedicated to this subject, but
still under construction (the background to this item is a slice from
what I guess is one such). Other pages focus on model aircraft,
woodwork, cameras used (a very interesting page chronicling
Grapher's equipment over the years and his search for the ideal camera)
and a links page. It was nice to see ModelFlight
there - thanks, Grapher!
Here's a sample image from the current woodworking
and model aircraft pages. The beautiful little ash stool was a
special project that Grapher designed and made for a quite specific
application; the model plane is his Junior 60.
The site is still under development and, given
the vast resource that Grapher has, will also be subject to regular
change, so it will be one of those sites that is well worth a regular
visit. A delightful site - congratulations, mate!
