hotchpotch n. medley; dish of many ingredients

. . . and that's what this page is all about. Tell us about anything else at all other than model flight matters - as long as it's decent and inoffensive!

Share something of your other interests and hobbies or those of your family, be they amateur dramatics, arts and crafts, gardening, horse-riding, model railways,  pets, photography or whatever. Let's see the new baby, hear about your kids, your spouse, partner or girl/boy friend and their achievements, the new house, etc., etc. From Academic to Zany, it's all welcome on this page (subject to the discretion of the editor)!

In order to do justice to photographs appearing on this page, some pictures may require scrolling when viewed full screen and could take a little longer to download.

victors.jpg (37153 bytes) Here are two pictures that Denis Wolff has sent of Handley Page Victor bombers. The cover picture, repeated right, is of the first prototype in flight which crashed in 1953 at low level and at around 350 knots, killing five fine young men - its tail came off due to flutter. Denis later worked for Handley Page as a flight observer on the second prototype and first production aircraft. These pictures come from the Royal Air Force website gallery pages which offer a vast collection of pictures available for download for private use. victor.jpg (21830 bytes)

salisburypan.jpg (53182 bytes)Derick Veliz takes some great aerial pictures from his Wingo and Twin Star planes, many of which are used in conjunction with his job as an architect. Here's a delightful panoramic shot taken for one of his company's projects in Connecticut - it's of the Salisbury School Library.

Click this camera icon to see Derick's original ModelFlight article on his aerial photography, which created a lot of interest.

I already had a resident for the Cat on the Corner spot for this issue when Geoff (Graham) sent me this picture of Rosie, fast asleep tucked up under Poppy's belly! What a life!

Here's one of the jokes from the SWSA website which I don't think breaches my code for material on this page ! (SWSA is featured on club scene)

Essex girl goes to the council to register for child benefit.

"How many children?"

"10."

"10???" says the council worker.. "What are their names?"

"Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne and Wayne."

"Doesn't that get confusing?"

"Nnaah..." says the Essex girl, "It's great because if they are out playing in the street I just have to shout WAAYNE, YOUR DINNERS READY or WAAYNE GO TO BED NOW and they all do it..."

"What if you want to speak to one individually?" asks the perturbed council worker.

"That's easy" says the Essex girl............................. "I just use their surnames."
