| Microsoft
postpones FS2002 release |
Microsoft recently released the following brief statement in regards to
FS2002: "Microsoft is shocked and saddened by the horrible
tragedies that occurred on September 11th. Our hearts go out to everyone
involved in and affected by these attacks. We are focused on doing the
right thing out of respect for the victims, our customers, partners and
employees. With this in mind, we have decided to postpone releasing
Flight Simulator 2002 for distribution. We will announce a new date when
it is determined."
I guess this is due to sensitivity in respect of the New York
scenery and what to do about the World Trade Center Twin Towers which would
have been a prominent feature in it. Quite a dilemma, and I wonder what
they will do.

| Denis explains
about the ether and adder-catching!
"As a lad, in that lovely place
that was Fleet in Hampshire -with the largest stretch of open water in southern England - I had aquariums and I think a
vivarium for snakes and lizards, which I caught with a stick and ether-embedded
cotton wool. In the pond and the Basingstoke Canal were great-crested newts
and allsorts - when I wasn't flying chuck gliders!" -
Denis.
Great! I, too, remember catching
newts and minnows in the water meadows at Winchester, and grass snakes on
my local stamping ground. I also recall my mum catching me trying to fry
a few minnows on one occasion. Happy days!

| I bought an inexpensive
mouse the other day for a PC I have brought back to life and couldn't
help but smile at the noble attempts at English of the Chinese
manufacturer in extolling his product on the packaging. No offence,
though - after all, I can't speak a word of Chinese!
"We've
gained a lot of prizes for many years until now. Therefore, we supply
many products with good quality; and good products are produced from
very well factory which is located in mainland China for over 16,000
square meters.
The stuff in our company are very well,
strict-control. We sell over 1,800,000 pieces of mice per month over the
worldwide."

| HEALTH NEWS - It's
nice to know that Tore Loodin has recovered from a nasty dose of 'flu
and Denis Wolff is also getting around now. Denis tells me he has bought
a little powered scooter (8 m.p.h.) to assist his mobility - how about a
picture, Denis? Which reminds me, we're still waiting to see Tore all
loaded up with one of his models on his moped! |
