Tell
us all about your model flying club and report on your activities. E-mail me with some idea of
the sort of facilities you have, size of membership, types of model flown,
social activities, reports of special events, site availability, guest
arrangements, frequency of meetings, location, or anything else you
can think to mention. Pictures will also be most welcome, and if you
want to send me pictures by conventional post, my address now
appears on home
page. If your club has a website, let me know the address and ModelFlight
will pay you a virtual visit!

continues to patiently wait for ATS to vacate their
Thruxton site, near Andover, UK, before the club can officially open.
Latest prediction is that ATS will move off to their new location at
Draycott around November 1st.
The current issue of RCM&E, with a cover
date of OCTOBER and published 14th SEPTEMBER, still reports the ATS move
as 1st AUGUST! That's an interesting clue as to just how long a
lead-time these magazines have for submission of copy.

their web site at www.jbmfc.fsnet.co.uk

| NEW SLOPE SOARING SITE DISCOVERED? |
 Earlier
this year, a small group from the Test Valley Model Flying
Club visited the historic Brooklands Motor Racing Circuit, ostensibly to
attend a meeting of the Gas Turbine Builders Association, as reported on
ModelFlight #38. Evidence has now come to light, however, to
suggest that they may have had a hidden agenda - to explore the use of the site for
what some might consider less glorious activities. Here we see Gordon, Neil and Pete,
as they called themselves, scaling the
slopes of the infamous cambered bend of the Brooklands circuit, whilst our
second shot clearly shows 'Gordon' doing a mock launch of a model slope
soarer as 'Pete' and 'Neil' skulk off into the bushes to avoid the
prying lens of the ModelFlight camera. |
