  • Here's an item or two from the latest catalogues, magazine advertising or websites  - not  necessarily all new products on the market, but items large and small that will be of interest.
  • If you contact any supplier as a result of reading this page, please be sure to mention ModelFlight.

NEW FEATURE - all cats and kittens welcome!
Current cat on the corner this issue is Geoff Graham's 'Poppy', who will remain here for a while. If you're a cat-loving model flyer, send a picture of your moggie and he or she could well become top cat! New pictures of cats who have appeared previously are welcome, so Truls or Caesar must surely be back!

Want to See Your Voltage?

Here's a natty little device that allows you to check your rx battery voltage on-board, in real time and all the time!

cvoltandbattery.jpg (9837 bytes)From the USA company, i4c products, the C-Volt is an on-board, self-contained digital battery voltage monitor. Moving your servos shows the loaded battery voltage - the actual voltage, not a simulated load. You are able to see the battery's voltage to the nearest 10mV in easy-to-read digits. The C-Volt is small, compact, and is reverse polarity protected. It reads +4.00 to +18.00 Vdc (0.01V Resolution). The device plugs into any spare receiver port or you may 'Y' it into the battery. Small and lightweight, weighing just ½ ounce, it draws less than 1mA current consumption at 5 Vdc.

cvoltinstalled.jpg (21920 bytes)The C-Volt comes in two versions for r/c model 'plane applications. The CV100A is the standard model with the wire coming directly out of the back of the unit. This unit is easily installed into the cockpit, fuselage, etc. A template comes in the instructions for cutting the hole and the unit's own bezel nicely hides the cut. Measures 1·38" wide, 0·882 thick and 0·43" deep. $39.95

cvoltac.jpg (6506 bytes)Model CV100AC is exactly the same instrument as the CV100A except it has been housed in an aluminium case with the wire coming out of the side of the unit and may be installed as the CV100A or by using two-way tape, eliminating the need for cutting a hole. Both units are available for JR, Futaba, Hitec or Airtronics radios. $49.95

Incidentally, this company has some other very special products, including a beautiful little torque wrench for modellers and some novel screamers and whistlers that you can fit to your models for some stunning sound effects!
