THIS is the page for
aero-model pictures - your own, or others you've seen at the club or at
a show; they are all welcome if they're nice to look at!
If you're not into digital photography or
scanning pictures, why not send some photos by regular mail? It's not too
pricey; a batch of five or
six photos costs $1.00 airmail postage from the USA, for example. My address is on
home
page. |

A nice selection of your recently completed models

| Lionel
Kirby's lovely little Cessna Skymaster |
|
 |
This
pretty little model has just appeared on the Test Valley MFC
field for the first time.
Recently built by Lionel
Kirby from an RCM&E plan by Simon Delaney, it is
a US Navy Cessna Skymaster 02B finished in Rough Raiders
colour scheme. Lionel has modified the model by
the addition of a dural undercarriage and rudder control. Five
servos, OS FSR ·25 engine up front with dummy pusher at the
rear, wingspan approx. 54". Running a control up one of
those laminated ply booms for the rudder was quite a challenge,
apparently. |

Mike
Slaughter's magnificent Focke |
|
| "I
have finally finished my 95-inch wingspan 1/6 scale Focke Wulf TA 152.
A great project for a scratch builder. The plans are from RCM&E magazine
plans service. This airplane was a few 'firsts' for me. It was my first
fibreglass finish, and my first entirely painted project, and my largest
airplane to date. It is powered by an OS 1.08 2-cycle, has Century
Jet Models scale retracts and came in at 13 pounds overall (I used
light balsa throughout).
"I wanted to paint without the effort of
using a spray gun. I found a line of paints that can be thinned and
cleaned up with water, and is fuel-proof when dry. The paint came from
Neslon Hobby Specialists, www.nelsonhobby.com
, and is called System Three Paints. I painted the entire plane with a
3/8 inch artist's brush. Came out looking good and flying well. Plenty
of power and smooth graceful flight."

Kent
Randall's latest |
| |
"Here is an
image of my new Sukhoi, a 72" CG model. I started with an ASP 108
which was fine but underpowered for such a model. Still not to be
outdone I fitted an MDS 148 with a Bisson Pitts muffler and the plane
rocks. Prop-hanging, knife edge, the lot. Not only that it looks real
good on the ground and in flight. The thing about larger models is they
cut the air cleaner and are more stable, the unfortunate thing is they
weigh more and will cause more damage to themselves when the ground
rises and strikes them." See more on Kent's
personal website which now has a permanent link on our links page. |

"Just
finished this ARF Park Flyer called Soar Star. Hasn't flown yet. An
article says it can be put together in three hours. It took me three
days." |

Roger
Forgues' Extra 330L |

Roger
made this cowl opening like the hood of a car to gain access to the carb |
| |
 |
This is Roger Forgues' fantastic Skunk Works Extra 330L from Great
Planes. The model has a wingspan of 100·5 inches and is powered by a
ZDZ 80 B2 RV-L engine, with K&S muffler. It also uses Roger's own
famous fibre optic servo extensions and is controlled from a Multiplex
4000 radio with Multiplex digital servos. There was an item on Roger's
unique servo
extensions on ModelFlight
#12, and his personal profile appeared on #11. |

Nice big inlet
for proper cooling |
 |
This lovely shot of Boston,
USA, was taken by Derick Veliz from his Wingo. Derick's article on
aerial photography on ModelFlight #23 was very popular and was
repeated by request more than once. You can now view it from the archive,
of course. Derick's system is extremely straightforward but highly
effective. |

Two interesting
picture strips sent by Lionel Kirby of Test Valley Model Flying Club
On the left, Civvy
Boy, a vintage pylon duration model with 84" wingspan, ETA 29
powered, built from a kit supplied by Watford Models, currently owned
and flown by Lionel.
On the right, a Mitsubishi
Zero built from Nick Zorroli plans by Dave Plummer. Powered by a
35cc Quadra engine with Merati retracts and 5" Dubro wheels, this 91" wingspan,
21½ lb model will soon be seen back on the Test Valley flying
field. Click the thumbnails and
scroll down the strips in full-screen view. |

Send ModelFlight a picture of your aero model
Large or small, kit, scratch built or ARTF, rotary or fixed-wing,
electric, rubber, i/c or gas turbine, r/c or free flight, it matters not - and they
don't have to be perfect, either. If you like it, let's see it!
Just use the e-mail facility at the foot of any ModelFlight
page or send
details and pictures by regular mail.
