THIS is the page for
aero-model pictures - your own, or others you've seen at the club or at
a show; they are all welcome if they're nice to look at!
If you're not into digital photography or
scanning pictures, why not send some photos by regular mail? It's not too
pricey; a batch of five or
six photos costs $1.00 airmail postage from the USA, for example. My address is on
home
page. |

You
may remember this picture from issue #41 - it's a model DH Canada
Chipmunk used for aero-towing by Sandhays Scale Gliding Association. I
asked their webmaster, Geoff Graham, if he could provide a bit more
detail of the model.
Geoff says that it is a Mike Smart
plans design, wingspan 104" or thereabouts, with power from a
Zenoah 38 petrol engine. Built by prolific builder Gordon Veal, Geoff says that in flight it is beautifully
stable, but regrets that the engine noise destroys the scale impression!
Geoff also briefly reports a very
successful Aerotow event at Sandhays last weekend (11/12 August). He is
hoping to give us a write-up, but just as an appetite-whetter, here are
a couple of lovely shots taken on the day.
A
Minimoa glider - the full-size was a highly advanced glider
(then) produced by the Germans for training pilots.
In the foreground, the lovely gliding Hawk
that I think I've seen in one or two mags.
Probably
the star of the show was this magnificent Duo Discus. This
wonderful shot really gives an indication of the size of this model -
wingspan of around 22 feet, I guess!

his son Adam over the course of just a few days. |

Send ModelFlight a picture of your aero model
Large or small, kit, scratch built or ARTF, rotary or fixed-wing,
electric, rubber, i/c or gas turbine, r/c or free flight, it matters not - and they
don't have to be perfect, either. If you like it, let's see it!
Just use the e-mail facility at the foot of any ModelFlight
page or send
details and pictures by regular mail.
