Tell us all about your model flying club and report on your activities. E-mail me with some idea of the sort of facilities you have, size of membership, types of model flown, social activities, reports of special events, site availability, guest arrangements, frequency of meetings, location, or anything else you can think to mention. Pictures will also be most welcome, and if you want to send me pictures by conventional post, my address now appears on home page. If your club has a website, let me know the address and ModelFlight will pay you a virtual visit!

New UK club - good & bad news!

John Simpson tells me that the opening of the new JB Model Flying Club announced on ModelFlight #40 (and subsequently in all the UK model mags) is now delayed from some time in August to 'some time in the Autumn'. This is because the current tenants on the site, ATS, are unable to state precisely when they will be vacating the site at Dunnings Farm, near Andover, Hants, UK.

The good news is that in order to  attract new members, the monthly subscription to the new club has been reduced from £15 per month to £10 and the flying height restrictions previously announced have been revised to allow unrestricted flying under certain conditions.

An information pack on the new club is available on request via info@jbaviation.com and the same information is carried on the clubs brand-new website at www.jbmfc.fsnet.co.uk - and if you think you recognise the style of the site, no prizes for guessing who's doing it!

toremeet4.jpg (26150 bytes) Another happy afternoon's meeting for Tore Loodin and fellow-flyers from Sweden. I don't know if this was a meeting of Tore's club, Stockholms Radioflygklubb, but it's interesting to see a good number of youngsters. That tower in the background of the picture top right looks interesting - I wonder if anyone has ever hit it (or perhaps it's much further away than I think). This issue's opening screen picture came from this little portfolio - great to see Tore with a plane in the air! toremeet5.jpg (30469 bytes)
