Hi
friends,
Computers
are all very well until they go wrong and, boy, has mine gone wrong since the
last ModelFlight!
In fact, I've had nothing but trouble for the past four weeks, right from the
first day of purchasing a brand-new bang-up-to-date PC. Preparing this issue has
been a nightmare of frustration, with frequent hang-ups, problems in loading
files and all sorts of strange error messages as the computer has got completely
confused between the various drives that were installed. After four weeks of
long conversations with technical support (and even longer periods of waiting to
get through to them!) and two engineer visits, the supplier has at last admitted
defeat and a replacement machine should be arriving within a week. Things can
only get better . . . can't they?
There's
quite an electric flavour about this issue, although not by design. I decided to
feature Graham McAllister's site on 'site seeing' and Graham's business is all
about plans and kits for electric flight. Then, as your material came in, there
just seemed to be quite an emphasis on electric flight. There are some
particularly nice models from John Anderson of Georgia on the photo gallery
which show just what lovely models can be built for electric - the idea that
they are all flimsy, slow and foam is definitely dispelled!
Regards to all,
