friends,
I hope you
will enjoy Mike Farnan's account of his world record model helicopter flight on air
space. I was certainly excited and intrigued by it when I received it from
Lindsay Henderson (Hendo) from Australia and feel privileged to be able to bring
it to you, probably well ahead of the modelling press.
In the
first two or three days after a new Modelflight
goes to the web, I usually get a flurry of e-mails responding to the issue in
one way or another. I was therefore very puzzled when, following the up-loading
of #39 to the web, it was almost a full week before I received any response
whatsoever except for several new requests to go on the reminder mailing list,
even though my discrete hit-counter was indicating a good number of visitors to
the site. I had a suspicion that something had gone wrong with the reminder that
I initially sent out, but that turned out to be unfounded. It remains a mystery
why there was such a stunning silence - the issue didn't seem that bad!
However, when I asked for your help in confirming that my e-mail communication
was functioning, your response was overwhelming and included many kind comments
about #39 plus some great contributions for this issue! If that hadn't happened,
this issue would have been one heck of a struggle; I'm sure you know why I'm
telling you all this!
Finally,
just to let you know that my Citabria has been successfully test-flown. There
will probably be a brief report on #41.
