Hi friends,

It really is so good to be flying again, even though I've already had to miss one or two opportunities due to family circumstances.

In his excitement over his latest helicopter cabin paint job, our friend 'Viper' from Brazil admits he got carried away a bit and used my ModelFlight mailing list to show it around. Understandably, one or two folk were not too happy about that and Viper has sent his sincere apologies for his over-enthusiasm and promises he will not do it again - and my thanks for that, Viper! To be honest, I didn't realise it was possible, and although Viper's use of the list was harmless enough, I would not like to think my list could be used in such a way for less innocent reasons, so I have availed myself of a tip given me by Richard Street to make it impossible in the future. When you now get my reminder, you might note it is actually addressed to myself, with 'blind carbon copies' to the mailing list which can no longer be seen or accessed.

I was beginning to think that contact with Australia had been lost when, within a couple of days of each other, I received two e-mails from 'down under' (how do the Aussies refer to us, I wonder - politely, I mean!). Norm Kirton's welcome letter is on 'post box' with news of their national championships and the promise of good things to come, and it's good to welcome Marty Jarvis from Tasmania, whose club I have featured on 'club scene'. To further enhance the antipodean interest and flavour of this issue, 'cats corner' features a very nice little cottage company from Brisbane who are producing a lovely range of Almost Ready to Cover warbirds.

I hope you like the two more unusual web sites I have featured on site seeing - I found them both quite fascinating!

Regards to all,

The background image on the opening screen is a painting of a Boeing 707 by the Argentinian aviation artist Carlos Adrián Garcia. If you are not already receiving a reminder each time ModelFlight is updated every two weeks but would like to do so, please click on the post-box and send me an e-mail simply saying "reminder" and I will gladly add you to my e-mailing list.
