Here is something definitely different from Australia

This delightful little model is from a range produced by S & B MODEL AIRCRAFT, a small cottage company in Brisbane, Australia, run by Darryl Smith and Geoff Barker with the motto "RC Scale Warbirds by Modellers for Modellers". You're not going to see these models every day, but the company does handle international mail order, so here's your chance to turn up at your flying field with something quite unique! [I reckon I ought to be a commercial copy writer!]. The company has only recently started out but have already sold kits locally, interstate and globally, all from word of mouth. The first two models made were a couple of Focke Wulf's and were not intended to be kitted, but after countless requests, Darryl and Geoff relented and now have a real success on their hands.

S & B Model Aircraft produce a nice range of these very-near-scale warbirds of simple Almost Ready to Cover construction but that are also high quality and extremely good value. All their kits feature a nearly indestructable EPP foam very-near-scale fuselage and come with a clear pre-cut canopy and pre-sheeted wing. No sanding or shaping is required in any way for a very-near-scale finish comparable to an expensive composite kit, but don't forget they've got to be covered so the final finish is down to you!

Featured here is the Hawker Sea Fury, with a wingspan of 33" and a ready weight of 12 - 18 oz, depending on your chosen power plant for aerobatic or sport performance. The suggested power plant for sport performance is a Speed 400 7.2v motor, a 6·4 x 4 Graupner prop and spinner, a 7-cell 600 AE Sanyo battery pack and a Bec 10amp controller. The ARC kit is priced at $159 and there's a basic kit version at $129 - and don't forget we're talking Australian dollars here which means that with the current state of the AU$, US and UK customers are going to get a great deal here. S & B will quote you for overseas shipping costs. They accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Money Orders.

Other equally-attractive models in the range are the Focke Wulf 190A, TA 152H, Corsair F4U, Tempest M5 and the ME 163C Comet. All kits include instructions with construction tips, plenty of pictures, cockpit inserts, German and British markings for finishing and more . . .

Find out more at http://members.optusnet.com.au/~darryl_smith/ or e-mail geoffbarker@ozmail.com.au - and when you place your order, let them know you read about it on ModelFlight, please! S & B's site also carries loads of useful information on construction and finishing and is well-worth a visit.
