Hi
friends,
Having
been grounded for a while as a result of the restrictions in place arising from
the outbreak of foot and mouth disease here in the UK, it was great to get the good news from
our club secretary that we can fly again! The Ministry of Defence land on which
we fly during the winter months remains out of bounds, but we have slightly
advanced our usual Easter transfer to a local school playing field on which the
restrictions do not apply.
For no
other reason than I prefer it, I have re-named the 'models in the making' page
to 'work in progress' and we have a new model from Geoff Graham appearing there this
issue. Do please send pictures of anything you are currently building, together
with a brief explanatory note or two, and let's see your project progress from
time to time.
I hope you
like the new welcome cover page - I thought it would make a nice clean opening
screen before you get into this page. I was inspired by the nice covers that
open RCezine, which is a great web-based mag you might like to visit at www.rcezine.com
Although I cannot offer prizes for cover pics as they do, I will use pics of
your models for the background from time to time when something rather special
turns up.
I'm
listing the clubs that have appeared on 'club scene' on the take your pick page
now, just in case anybody might like to see a repeat of a club item.
Finally, I
send my very best wishes for a full recovery to health and strength to Steven
Bolin who is not too well right now. Steven is a big fan of ModelFlight
and has become a great personal friend - get well soon, Steve!
Regards to all,

The
background image on the cover page is a Wilfrid Harding painting
entitled Low Down The Lake - Again showing a Tornado GR1B of No
617 Squadron and appears by kind permission of the Royal Air Force
Benevolent Fund. Click the mini-pic on the left if you want to get back to the cover
page or the thumbnail on the right if you would like to view the
image. |
