Maybe it won't idle, perhaps the high end setting is suddenly way off, or the midrange is loading up. If the glow plug is good, there is only one logical place to look: the glow fuel. Chances are it has gone stale. Some commercial glow fuels are better than others, but whatever fuel brand you use, it is subject to the elements, which over time can degrade it to the point where you are scratching your head wondering why an always reliable engine is now giving you problems. 

Glow fuel is made from methanol alcohol. It absorbs moisture like a sponge, and water quickly contaminates and degrades the fuel's combustion effectiveness. This is especially true if you live in a humid climate. Evaporation is another issue in which nitromethane slips away little by little, robbing the fuel of the main ingredient which produces power and smooth idle. Lastly, air borne dirt causes problems as it finds its way to your motor's fuel system.
