| The
original Bell X1-S, flown by Chuck Yeager, was the first
aircraft ever to break the sound barrier.
This model by Aerographics and
distributed by Sams Models, has a span of 13" and features a
lavish plan and comes with decals either for Chuck's Glamorous
Glennis or the all-white NACA version.
It is designed to be flown
with either the Rapier 2 motor or a Jet-X50. Flight-tested
throughout the 2000 season, the model is reported to be a fantastic flyer.
It is classic stick and tissue construction with very comprehensive
instructions and full set of decals.
£17.75 including
postage and package in the UK, $26.35 including air mail postage
for USA or overseas orders.
The Rapier L2 engine is
a one-shot unit - burn the unit and replace with a new one - and comes in
a box of 10 units with fuses - "a very modern new approach to flying
jet-powered model aeroplanes". A box of 10 units costs £8.50,
plus £1.50 post and packing for up to 4 boxes. |
