Hi friends

Here we are then with the first issue of ModelFlight's second year!

Although no offence was caused, it does appear that on issue 26 I did include something from a contributor's letter that he did not actually expect to see published.

You will know that I deliberately set out to try and make ModelFlight a friendly and informal forum, and have always included little bits of chat and personal information that folk pass on to me, believing that it does help to foster something of the 'club' atmosphere that I try to generate on the site. Be assured, however, that I have never published - and never will publish - anything that is identified to me as not being intended for publication. There have been one or two such requests which have, of course, been fully honoured. However, to avoid any misunderstanding, may I just say that if you write to me at ModelFlight I will assume that, unless you specifically say otherwise or head your e-mail 'personal', I may use anything you say on the site without reference back to you.

I have decided to make the new 'models in the making' page an independent page and not for accessing via the 'photo gallery' page as it was on the last issue. The page will therefore be shown on the navigation bar at the top of each page of the site, thus continuing my principle of easy access to every page from every page. If there is no material for the page on any particular issue of ModelFlight it will simply not appear. Do please consider sending in some progress pictures of your current project, together with a bit of background text. We can keep any number of projects going and catch up with each one from time to time, as you keep me informed. I find it really interesting to see a new model taking shape (and looking out for a few useful techniques on the way) and I hope you might, too.

There's yet another new page on this issue which I have called 'take your pick'. This is my low-tech system of providing the means by which you can select items that have appeared on previous issues of ModelFlight, and e-mail me with your request. I will then repeat the item on the 'take your pick' page of a future issue.
