Hi
friends,
Johan
Bjurling from Sweden (you can meet him on the post box
page) recently asked, "Is ModelFlight
a personal website or is it a
"real" club? I don't really understand." In case any others can't
really work it out, my answer is that it is a personal website in that it is my
own creation, it's totally non-commercial and I maintain it as an extension of my hobby.
All the same, I like to think of it as a web-based virtual flying club (hence my
little motto, "virtually a model flying club"), on the
basis of it being open to all and dependent on contributions from other model
flight enthusiasts. There is no formal "membership" - everybody who
reads it and contributes to it is a virtual member! I'm also open to ideas and
suggestions to make the site more enjoyable and useful, of course.
I've slightly modified the way
the links page works now, having broken it down into categories. I am also now
adding a link to all clubs and personal sites that are featured on ModelFlight
as a matter of course unless I am specifically asked not to.
I was intrigued by Derick Veliz's
aerial photography projects which are described on air
space. Derick has achieved impressive results using the simplest of
equipment. Derick comes from
Guatemala, but moved to the USA a couple of years ago - pity that, I would have
liked another flag on my post box banner!
Regards to
all,
