Hi friends,

On the 'club scene' page of last time's ModelFlight  I published a club competition report from Tore Loodin of the Radioflygklubb of Stockholm, Sweden. Up to that time, 'club scene' had always been used solely to feature a model flying club somewhere in the world, but I thought Tore's report was so interesting that it would be good to extend the page to cover any club events of any sort that you might be prepared to write up for the rest of us. So, if you have something special going on at the club - competitions, annual trophy awards, fly-ins, exhibitions and open days, social events or whatever, why not produce a report for the rest of us to enjoy? As always, accompanying pictures will always be particularly welcome.

A particularly enjoyable aspect of this hobby is the way that beginners and experienced devotees alike seem to get on so well together. As you know, I am still very much a beginner, having been into fixed wing r/c flying for only about 10 months, and I have found that belonging to my local model flying club has proved so very enjoyable, even though I haven't been to the field this summer as much as I would have liked. The help, advice and patience of experienced flyers has been very much appreciated and it's always so good to meet up with others who are also new to the game. 

I find that reflected here on ModelFlight as well, with people participating and apparently enjoying the site from all levels of experience. The two personal profiles featured this issue are a case in point - there's Yuchol Kim, a young man with years of model flying experience, and David Reid who, like me, has only been in the hobby for a matter of months, but both apparently enjoying the fun of meeting up through our virtual club!
