Let's
kick off with four models from members of the CHEYENNE RADIO CONTROL
CLUB featured on the 'club scene' page. Click these
thumbnails for the larger view. |
First,
take a look at ERIC KLER'S rather lovely Dragon Lady
The model is fitted with a Saito 150 gk engine
Covering is Rhino Cover/Monocote - very
attractive design indeed
This
is vice-President BUS HACKER'S Scimitar
Powered by an OS ·61
Bus apparently has a particular fondness
for Bill Evans design tail-less Scimitars
Here
is another of ERIC'S planes - a beautiful Sig Hog biplane.
Saito ·91 engine
21st Century fabric covering
Finally
from Cheyenne RCC for this issue, here's KEVIN MALLORY'S very
sleek-looking GP Tracer
Powered by an OS ·46
Some say a shark's mouth would really finish
this model off nicely
|
Here's MATT
HALTON'S recently-finished model referred to on the 'post-box'
and 'personal profile' pages - what a beauty! He's already
started on a second model which will be powered by twin electric
ducted fan motors. I hope we'll get to see it.
|
| Matt's
model is the Grumman F-14 Tomcat
Own design, although of exact
scale dimensions, cross-section and outline
To be powered initially with a
conventional prop motor in the nose
 |
The
operating variable geometry wing is powered by two small
high torque servos, varying the wing-sweep from 32"
to 57".
The model is very light
- all-up-weight is just 5½ lbs - so Matt says he will
get away with an O.S. 32FX engine. |

Here are a
couple of shots off the LARAMIE BARNSTORMER'S R/C CLUB website
(see the 'links' page), which TROY STARK plans to
re-design over the winter months and which we will visit when
it's done.
These pics are not thumbnails. |
 |
On the left is club member LEONARD
with his Eagle, whilst on the right we have MIKE
SMITH'S unspecified helicopter - nice colour scheme. |

You might
recall the next item from an earlier ModelFlight
which I'm repeating
because PETE NICHOLL missed it first time round - simple as that! |
 Some
time ago, as I understand it, Pete's Phoenix Paragon
trainer went in whilst flying with Test Valley Model Flying
Club, UK, and Pete went on to build a copy of it. Before getting
round to actually flying it, he moved over to an ARC Ready which unfortunately
flew away a few weeks ago, so he returned to his
copy plane, fitted an Irvine ·46 engine and radio gear and it
has proved to be an absolutely first-class machine. I couldn't
persuade Pete to be pictured with his plane, but here's his
14-year old son, Jared, using it for his first-ever
flight under Gordon's watchful eye. Pete reckons the AJS
on the wing stands for All Junk and Spares
which was apparently how some people used to refer to the motor bikes of
that name - shame on them! |

And finally,
a little collection of shots from the
CASCADE ROTORY WINGS
SEPTEMBER 2000 CURTIS YOUNGBLOOD FUNFLY
Sorry, no details, but just lovely to look at! |
