| Here's a new contributor to the ModelFlight
site -
meet MATT HALTON |
Matt
is 41 years old and lives at Southend-on-Sea, England.
He works in the medical world and is married to Faye;
they have two daughters - Emma, who is 14 years old and Claire,
who is 12.
Matt has been involved in aero-modelling from a boy,
having now been in the hobby for the last 32 years. His current interest
lies in fixed-wing scale warbirds and jet/sport scale models.
Matt
belongs to Southend Radio Flying Club. He has a personal
website which is loaded with some great pictures of his superb
models, like this one of his FW190A-4. Matt's current stable (can you
use that term when referring to aircraft?) consists of :
- Spitfire 1a - Brian Taylor
- FW190A-4, Brian Taylor
- RCM&E Hawk
- Mirage 5, Philip Noel
- Lockheed F-104-G, Thorpe Brothers
|
- F4U-1D Corsair, own design
- U.T.V.A Type 213 VIHOR, own design
- Sukhoi S.37 'BERKUT', own design
- F-14A Tomcat, own design (see the photo
gallery page)

Here's Matt talking about his interests and
aspirations:
Wishing I could live for 200 years
to build all of the types of aircraft on my 'wanted' list! I enjoy
designing and building scale models very much. My designing is all
done by hand - don't know CAD yet! I am building another version of
the F-14 soon for twin electric ducted fans, this version will then be
true scale. Following this, I can't decide between the Sukhoi 27
Flanker or the Blackburn Buccaneer. The S.37 Berkut is
currently being manufactured by Balsa Cabin as a CNC kit and is due
for release shortly. You can see pictures of this, and all of the
other planes mentioned, on my website. You will also find detailed
building pictures, finished, and flying shots.
Other people's scale models are
also listed there too, with details of their models. I invite anyone
to send me pictures of their scale models of any type and I will
upload these pictures to my site. Any modelling classifieds of
anything R/C aircraft-related will also be added free! Anyone with a
website which is scale-related will be linked to mine, on a reciprocal
basis. I would like to speak to other modellers with a scale interest
too, so send me your mail!
Matt's e-mail address is planeplans@lineone.net Welcome
to ModelFlight, Matt, and thanks for your contributions to this
issue. If
scale is your speciality, then Matt's the man for you. Don't send him all
your material, though, but keep some for ModelFlight! There's
a permanent link to Matt's site on the links page - I hope we'll get a
mention there too. |
Join in the fun, send ModelFlight an
e-mail and tell us about yourself, your family, hobbies and interests, what you
do for a living, how long you've been model-making, what club you belong to, if
any - in fact as much or as little as you see fit. Include a picture of yourself
if you can.
Your
e-mail address will be shown unless you specifically ask for it not to
appear. Picture files ideally need to be in JPG format for
best colour reproduction and to minimise time on-line.
If you want to send me pictures by conventional mail, my address
is
Reg Heath, 60 South View Gardens, Andover, Hants, SP10 2AQ, UK
