If your national flag isn't shown, it's because you haven't written to ModelFlight yet . . . !

TOM WATSON wrote from Sydney, Australia, with details of his Tiger Moth which you will find on the photo gallery page. I asked Tom for more details of his decal-making system, and that you will find on air space. Tom concluded his second e-mail:

. . . thanks for your interest. I feel that I have just joined a new club. I will try to send a bit of news from Australia. We intend to visit the UK next year and I might be able to have a fly with you all.

Great to be in touch, Tom, and welcome to ModelFlight - I'm glad you like it! I'm sure you would be a welcome guest at many clubs here in the UK.
If you want to give Tom a welcome at your club, let me know or drop him an e-mail at his address shown above.

TORE LOODIN from Stockholm, Sweden, liked his personal profile on the last ModelFlight

Hello Reg!
Just read #18 of ModelFlight. Just gorgeous and your kind exposure of my credentials flatters me!
Puffin.jpg (85516 bytes)Scorpion startas.jpg (59188 bytes)My son has fixed my scanner and I will send you some pictures. One depicts me and my Scorpion (left). One is my interpretation of the little Puffin transformed to 1/2 A size for Cox ·049 motor. The original I bought at Old Warden Oldtimer Days some years ago. It is still flying indoors with an KP01 electric motor. The larger version is photographed at our countryside house (right). I have flown it on pontoons on the pond.
I'll try and take a picture later on of the 'mopedekipage' [that's Tore on his moped!] bound for the flying field. I will also give you some pictures and the story of the Swedish Oldtimer Championships which has just been flown at Nyköping, 100 kilometers south of Stockholm. No, I didn't go there by moped, but with a SAAB car owned by my fellow flyer! Don't know if it has interest, has it?
OK, now I am going to bed to sleep with the Siamese cat, Caesar, on my arm, tucked in under the blanket - Siamese are heat-seeking animals!

If it interests you, Tore, it's likely to interest the rest of us, so send in anything you like!

And if YOU would like your credentials exposed, send me a personal profile NOW!

You can probably guess that this came from BOB NICOL, our resident joker!

It's good to hear from STEVE BOLIN again, including a bit of news on his large-scale B-17 project which we last saw back on ModelFlight #12. This shot was taken just before Steve started on the planking.

Steve writes:

Great news about your grandson! [Thanks, Steve.] And I do think it would be a great idea if you could make your other past issues of ModelFlight available, preferably on a permanent basis. That way, we could check up on your grandson's own website if we forget the address! . . . So when can he hold a transmitter?
Joanne [Steve's wife and ModelFlight's First Lady for those of you who do not know!] is presently working on a pilot for my Mustang by a company called DGA. I'll get her to send you something on this. I'm going to try to get you some photos on the progress I've got going on the B-17. I've got the two elevators finished with scale ribbing on the sheeted surface. The stab is now installed and I made up the servo tray and mounted the servos in the tray. The fin is built and sheeted with the rudder needing to be started. I will need to cover the elevators and rudder with cloth like on the real one before I permanently mount them. So far, I have spent 142 hours on this in 4 months . . .

I'm looking forward to seeing the latest state of the B-17 some time soon and certainly hope we might also hear from Joanne. I'm still trying to find some way of making back-items available without taking up all my webspace - I'll keep thinking about it!
