I
thought these two new Great Planes products looked rather nice! Trouble
is, I can't find any prices yet, but you're bound to be able to afford
one or the other!
A
neat little centre-marker for accurately marking out the position for
hinge slots, scoring a line directly down the centre of a control
surface. This one has a couple of nice refinements that set it apart
from most of the others - the marker is actually a steel pin that just
won't wear out and the pivoting feet nicely conform to the surface,
virtually eliminating the gouging effect of a solid pin. The tool is
reversible, allowing it to be used on almost any size plane's control
surfaces.
And
then there's this, their new Cessna 182 Skylane. Combining ARTF building
with exceptional quality and fine scale detail Great Planes believe this
sets new standards for an ARTF model.
The model is made using wood,
fibreglass and TopFlite Monokote covering material. The cowl, tail
cone, wingtips and wheel pants are all made of factory-painted
fibreglass, making it possible to produce a very nice scale model in
something like 15 - 20 hours.
The Skylane has a 63" wingspan and
weighs 6 lbs. It is suitable for 2-stroke ·40 - ·51 and 4-stroke ·52
- ·80 engines, 4 - 5 channels, 5 servos.
