  • Here's where we take a look at another website of model-flight interest. It might be a commercial site or one belonging to another enthusiast or specialist group. Let me know if you've come across a nice site that you think is worth a look - it could, of course, be your site if you let me know your URL!

Anglia Model Centre

www.modelshops.uk.com

This is the home-page of this company based in Norfolk, England, UK., manufacturers of Complete-A-Pac and Bowman Model Kits. Their site is fundamentally a  nicely-organised pictorial catalogue of their sport and scale model aircraft kits - and very nice they look, too.

The site is panel-designed, so that the left-hand panel of pictorial links always remains accessible, making for quick and easy surfing around the site. This panel displays a scrolling column of 39 thumbnails of the company's products - 38 model kits and a bungee set.

Click on any thumbnail, and the main panel then takes you to a page dedicated to your chosen model. Here you can see further illustrations of the model, together with a full specification of the kit, an indication of the experience level required to build it and its price. On the right, I've browsed to the Bucker Jungmeister page.

The company offers a worldwide mail order service and from the home page you can go to pages giving details of AMC's location and how to order, special offers, and a very useful and comprehensive currency converter.

The kits themselves look lovely! The range covers a nice variety of classic aircraft; all kits are supplied with precision cut wood parts using top-quality balsa and ply, together with ample strip and sheet balsa plus pre-bent wire parts, fibreglass and ABS cowls and canopies. Foam-veneered wings are supplied with some kits whilst others have a built-up wing. Prices range from £29.95 for the Simpleton glider through to £166 for the 66" span Handley Page Harrow twin pictured here.
