friends,
I've turned reporter/journalist for the air
space page this edition and have brought you a little report from the Middle
Wallop International Air Show which I visited on September 9th and which also
included a model show for the first time. Having missed
quite a few opportunities to fly at the club recently, it was a difficult
decision to make whether to go to Wallop or out to the flying field, but it's a
rare event to have something so special right on the doorstep, so I plumped for
the air show - missed the flying, though!
Two novelties for you on this ModelFlight!
When I ditched my 'flight sim' page dedicated to
flight simulators, I said I would still cover model flight sims if anything
interesting came up - well, on cats corner you'll
find details of PiccoFly, a flight simulator specifically for the little Ikarus
Piccolo indoor helicopter. If anybody's got a Piccolo, by
the way, do tell us about it.
 And
the second? Well, if you would like to proudly display your allegiance to ModelFlight,
here's a little car window sticker for you! It's
only 6½ inches wide, so will fit on your normal A4 or similar paper in your
printer. Click on this thumbnail and then on the Print button
on the top toolbar of your browser and you've got
it. Cut it out and stick it in your car window with a bit of sticky tape and, who knows,
somebody else might join us! Tell me if you use it - I'd be fascinated to know
where in the world it might be appearing!
Remember our quest to find lady fliers? Well, I
see that R/C Model Flight has started its search. ModelFlight
was there first though, and we came up with our very
own First Lady, Joanne Bolin - mind you, we haven't heard from her lately - any
news, Joanne?
