| THIS is the page for your
aero-model pictures.
If you're not into digital photography or
scanning pictures, why not send me some photos by regular mail? It's not too
pricey; a batch of five or
six photos costs $1.00 airmail postage from the USA, for example. My home address is on the home
page. |
| Here's
five more of those pictures that CRAIG TRICKETT sent from St John's R/C
Flyers' recent fly-in at Gander International, Newfoundland. Many thanks
for a great batch of pics, Craig. |
 |
Ziroli design Spirit of St
Lewis. This plane was scratch built by its owner ROB
SPARKES of North River, Newfoundland. It is powered by a
Zenoah G62, has a 12-foot wingspan and weighs around 35
lbs! |
|
| This Yellow Aircraft F16
is owned by KEN YU of Valleyfield, Newfoundland. The
plane is powered by an OS91 although Craig is not sure about the
fan unit. The plane is absolutely beautiful. It has not flown
yet as Ken is still waiting for some small parts to get the
retracts working. Nice one, Ken! |

DENNIS JOHNSON's P38
Lightning by Wings Manufacturing. Powered by two Super Tiger
40's, it has fixed gear as Dennis built it to fly and not cost a
whole lot. |
|
| Another of ROB SPARKES's
scratch built models, this 12-foot span Ziroli Design DC3
is modelled after a full-size DC3 that was donated to the town
of Harbour Grace by Mr Roger Pike, owner of Air Labrador. It is
named The Spirit of Harbour Grace to represent the
huge amount of aviation history in the town. The plane is
powered by two Quadra 42s and flies like the real thing. |

 |
SIG Somthin'Extra, owned
and built by JAMIE MORGAN. It has an OS46 for power and
is a real nice flyer, only limited by the skill of the pilot,
Craig says! Jamie has been in the club for 3 years and took over
as President in his second year while Craig took a year off. |
|
| Take a look at CARL
LADEN'S scratch-built and designed CAP 10B. This plane is one of the
design finalists featured in the October '00 issue of Model Airplane
News.
 Carl
is another member of St. John's R/C Flyers, Newfoundland which was
featured on Modelflight #14.
There's a note from Carl on the post
box page. Watch out for Carl's personal profile on the next
update.

A
year or so ago, PETE NICHOLL's trainer went in whilst flying with
T est Valley Model Flying Club,
UK, and Pete went on to
build a copy of it. Before getting round to actually flying it, he moved over to an ARC
Ready which was unfortunately lost a week or
two back,
so he returned to his copy plane, fitted an Irvine ·46 engine and
radio gear and it has proved to be an absolutely first-class machine. I
couldn't persuade Pete to be pictured with his plane, but here's his
14-year old son using it for his first-ever flight under
Gordon's watchful eye. |
| High Peak secrets
revealed! |
This
is DENNIS RICHARDSON's Bristol Fighter, immaculately
finished and turned out in between-the-wars colours.I've got no
details of scale, engine size or whatever but I'm guessing these models
are somewhere around 1:4 or 1:5.
Just
look at this lovely scratch-built Tiger Moth from BOB CASTLE.
If it wasn't for the length of the grass, Bob Nicol's low, close shots could deceive you into thinking
these planes are the real thing! These pictures looks great on my
desktop, too.

Now let's enjoy a sight of your favourite aero model
- large or small, kit or scratch built, ARTF, rotary or fixed-wing - and they
don't have to be perfect, either. If you like it, let's see it!
Just use the e-mail facility at the foot of any ModelFlight page or send
details and pictures by regular mail.
