| If
your national flag isn't shown, it's because you haven't written to
ModelFlight yet . . . ! |
  |
| I'm delighted to be able to add two
more national flags to the post-box banner, as we welcome Enrico
Feliciano from the Philippines and Fedosov Vladimir from
Ukraine to the list of ModelFlight correspondents. An
equally warm welcome is extended to Craig Trickett from
Newfoundland - it's a pity it hasn't got a flag of its own, as we've
already had quite a few contacts from Canada! |
| Here's
ENRICO FELICIANO from the Philippines
. . . greetings from the Philippines.
There are some R/C flyers here, although there are very few clubs.
Do you know how I can get in touch with Mr
Brian Cooper, designer of the Large Dart? I'm still trying to
learn how to fly on Mr Cooper's "Large Dart" published in RCM
- or is it RCMW? A pity the magazines are no longer imported
here.
Actually, by "flying" I mean that the plane takes off.
Landings are another matter. I once made two laps before impact. Quite
safe because there are lots of open areas in the provinces (hectares and
hectares of rice fields) and I time it so there is no one around. I'd
like to join the local clubs but haven't got the time. Working on a
powered hang glider now so I can get more "air time". Will
send pictures.
rfeliciano@kppi.com.ph
Nice to hear from you, Enrico, and I hope you will keep in touch. Quite
a challenge, I reckon, to try and learn on your own - joining a club
would really be a good idea, I assure you from my own experience!
If you can help answer Enrico's question, you can contact him through
his e-mail address but please let me know if you do, as I'd love to
know the outcome! RCMW (R/C Model World) has kindly confirmed
that the Large Dart was NOT one of their plans. |

. . and FEDOSOV VLADIMIR from Ukraine
I (am) Fedosov Vladimir, quadruple champion of
a world in the class Scale model (1984, 1986, 1988, 1990) in a category
F4B. Now director of the corporation AERO FZD.
Our corporation makes models on technique full GRP/FRP (glass fiber
reinforced plastic). I shall be pleased if you will be interested with
our production, and you want to purchase our models.
With the best regards.
aerofzd@carrier.kev.ua
Fedosov
Vladimir also explained that his company can finish their range of four superb
models to
customer's own colour designs, including logos, names, etc. AERO FZD
have an interesting website from which I downloaded this picture of the
Sukhoi SU-26M - click the thumbnail for full detail. If you want to see
more, visit http://aero-fzd.hypermart.net/
| AERO FZD are looking for a UK
distributor for their range of models, so I wonder if there's an
enterprising company out there prepared to introduce something
new to the market - if so, please contact Fedosov Vladimir and
let me know just for interest's sake. |

welcome to
CRAIG TRICKETT from Newfoundland, Canada
Reg
I must say you are doing an excellent job on this site. I am probably
the closest person to you in North America. I am in St. John's,
Newfoundland. I look forward to the updates and really enjoy seeing
what's going on on the other side of the "pond". I am
President of the St. John's RC flyers. We have about 30 active members
right now. You can have a look at our site if you like. We are having a
fun fly tomorrow (July 16) at Harbor Grace Airfield. I'll send some pics
next week of the event. Just a point of interest - the field at Harbor
Grace was used by many famous aviators such as Earhart and Lindbergh.
Keep up the good work.
craigt@roadrunner.nf.net
Thanks for your kind comments and I reckon you're right, Craig; you're about 3,100
miles away, that's all - and just a fraction of a second on the
internet! Thanks for getting in touch and for the
promise of some piccies.
I visited Craig's club website and you can read
about it on the club scene page. |
BOB
NICOL:
Getting loads of flying in and will send pics of new planes when I
have a few to send. I have the new VMAR CAP - the 60 - 90 size.
It is a very nice model but tends to snap roll and you have to be very
careful with the elevator. A couple of the lads have the new Hanger 9
CAP - they are putting OS160's on.
I am sending a pic of my VMAR and one of Paul Carr after a hectic
flight.
sideshow.bob@virgin.net
See Bob's pictures on the photo
gallery page. Bob also sent me a few more cartoons which will pop up
on ModelFlight from time to time.

| STEVE
REID kindly commented on ModelFlight #13 and the
new 'site-seeing' page
Really enjoyed this latest one. I like the idea
of highlighting a business occasionally, so I can see what's going on in
other parts of the country/world.
bzpond@cyberback.com
Thanks Steve. 'club scene' is up
this time; 'site-seeing' will be on again soon. |
from
BENNIE BROUGHTON
I have to apologise for me suddenly going
quiet. The last couple of weeks . . . were so hectic, I just didn't have
the time to start with the aerodynamics articles. I haven't forgotten
about that and I'll try and make some time when I get back after my
visit to England . . .
bbrought@uiuc.edu
Fine, Bennie; send your material
when you're ready. I hope you enjoyed your visit to England.

request from CHARLES FRAZIER of National Surveillance Associates
We have a website that sells instructions and
components to build video transmitters for a variety of applications,
including R/C models. This will allow the operator to have a "view from
the cockpit". We would like to have a link to our site included in
your web site. Our URL is http://home.att.net/~nasecass/remote.html
and our e-mail address is nasecass@worldnet.att.net.
We would also like to include a link to your site on our page.
It's a deal, Charles!
There is now
a permanent link on the links page. I was amused by NSA's little motto that says "if you solder a wire
and operate a hairdryer you can build an audio/video transmitter" -
I wonder if it's really as simple as that! On the right is one of
NSA's little colour video cameras that sells for $175. The
building instructions sell for $19.95 plus $1.35 shipping.
