Home PageGreetings all,I've always wanted to be able to progress the building of somebody's model on ModelFlight, so when STEVEN BOLIN mentioned some weeks ago that he was about to start work on a new model - and a large-scale B-17G at that - I seized the opportunity and invited him to keep me posted on the project. Steve has kindly sent me brief progress reports over the last few weeks and then a batch of photos which I have put together in the form of a simple picture diary which you will find on the photo gallery page of this update. This is just the first instalment, as there is much yet to be done to finish the plane, so watch out for more. I hope you find it interesting - I'm certainly enjoying watching it come together. I gather that a particular problem that applies to large-scale models is the possible loss of signal to the servos when long servo extension leads may be called for. ROGER FORGUES, who was profiled on ModelFlight #11, has come up with what looks to be a very clever answer to the problem using fibre optic technology. He has developed and is now marketing his fibre optic servo extension leads and you can read about them on the cats corner page - I haven't seen this idea anywhere else before, so I'm particularly pleased to bring it to you! Happy landings - you can read about my less-than-happy landing on air space! |
