JOHN SIMPSON took over the manufacture and distribution of the ATS Kite and Supersport models last May as he formed a new company JB Aviation, and has recently launched Mk 3 of the well-established ATS Kite trainer (Mk 3 of the Supersport is also on the stocks). The Kite is stable, docile and easy to fly. It comes in kit form with 100% Sequoia CNC-cut fuselage, parts and self-jigger assembly and CNC-cut high-density foam wing, making the kit a pleasure to build. A comprehensive instruction manual guides the beginner through every stage of construction and covering, fitting the engine and radio and preparing for flight. 65" wingspan, 4-channel, ·40 - ·46 2-stroke or ·45 - ·52 4-stroke, available in trike or tail-dragger configuration and weighing 5·5 - 6 lbs, this model is a great introduction to both building and flying and can be purchased direct from JB Aviation at a cost of £99 + p&p. John reckons that a model of this quality is likely to outlast many an ARTF and a full range of replacement parts is available. Watch out for a review of this kit in an up-coming issue of R/C Model World.

JB Aviation is not only continuing the range of ATS kits, but is also introducing a range of new models, beginning with the DH71 Tiger Moth Racer, due out this month (June 2000). This is a near-scale model of the DH71 which has nothing to do with the famous biplane which pinched its name; only two examples of the monoplane were built by De Havilland in 1927.

This kit is described as having plenty of scale character and makes "a cheerfully aerobatic sports model, easy enough to build to be a first scale aircraft and friendly enough to fly to be a first low-winger" - irresistable! The CNC precision-cut parts are all wood  - no foam or plastic in this one! The fuselage is self-jigging and the wing is built in a jig supplied with the kit. It comes complete with high-quality hardware, tank, wheels, spinner, etc. Details of scale colour schemes are included and decals for all schemes are available. 60" wingspan, 4-channel, ·40 - ·46 2-stroke or ·45 - ·52 4-stroke, tail dragger, weight 5 lbs. Cost, £99 + p&p. Get in quick and you could be amongst the first to be flying this little beauty!
