I haven't spotted too many new products to get excited about in the
last two weeks, but here are a couple of items you might not have
come across yourself. I must say, the idea of a starter without wires
that might get in the way of the prop does seem attractive, but whether
such an advantage is worth the price tag must be a personal choice!

This is the cordless Pocket
Starter available direct from Motors & Rotors. It uses a standard
cup for prop starting and a 6mm hex for helicopter engines. Powered from
9.6v fast-charge cells and able to handle motors up to .90 cu. in., it
costs £99.99 with charger or £89.99 without. You can e-mail the
supplier at motrot@aol.com |
| A good reference book can be
invaluable as you develop your own
experience in the model flight world. There is so much to learn
initially before you can really get going and this re-release of a a
long-established favourite by Adrian Vale should stand beginners in good
stead - the full title says it all - Radio Controlled Model Aircraft
- A Complete Guide for Absolute Beginners. It is available from
Traplet Publications Ltd who also publish many of the magazines we read.
