Welcome to the second issue of my web site - our worldwide virtual model flying club! I hope you like the new look which I've given the site. 

Special thanks to all of you who have already visited the site in the first two weeks of our existence; it's been very encouraging to see the activity so far and I eagerly look forward to hearing from you with your contributions to the club's activities. As we build up our informal membership, let me just re-state what we are all about. This site is for model flight enthusiasts of all levels of experience. It is not a 'magazine' but an interactive friendly forum for like-minded enthusiasts. The site is purely amateur, but contributions from suppliers and publishers are very welcome. On the pages which follow, we have nine established pages which cover a host of club activities as follows:

all of which can quickly be accessed from the links that appear on every page. With this update, and in response to a suggestion from Paul Landels of Just Engines, I've added  a tenth with a very straightforward page providing you with some links to other websites of interest. Do have a look at it and enjoy nosing around the sites - the manufacturers and distributors' sites are very mouth-watering and you'll often find gadgets, tools, kits and all sorts of special items that can really enhance your models.

Most items of news, views or general information that come our way are likely to fit in one of the existing pages but if not, then I will create a new one! The ModelFlight site offers you opportunity to make your own contribution and its regular up-dating means that your contribution will soon appear for the benefit and enjoyment of all other like-minded enthusiasts. The site will be updated at least once every two weeks, more frequently if sufficient material comes to hand. However, no items will be removed until they have appeared for at least two weeks, particularly in fairness to those who take the time and trouble to send in a contribution of any sort.

The club is in its early days, having first been launched on 30th January, 2000. I have registered the site on all the main search engines and it is beginning to appear in their listings - it takes at least a couple of weeks in some cases. I've also been in touch with a good number of suppliers who are happy to keep us informed of new products for inclusion in the what's new? section and I am hoping that one or two of our hobby magazines might give us a favourable mention - after all, we support them! Thanks for all the good wishes sent by these professionals!

I very much hope you will enjoy the club. There is no formal membership, no enrolment or fees to pay! If you use the site and continue to do so, then welcome aboard and count yourself as a member of the only worldwide virtual model flying club that I know of! Our success, however - like any club - depends on the active participation of our members and as you view the other pages, you will soon see that there are heaps of opportunities for you to contribute to the general enjoyment of the site and to the fun of our marvellous hobby.

Don't forget, once you have visited each of the ModelFlight pages, you can disconnect from the Web and continue to view them at your leisure.
